The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has directed to provide the Sri Lankan government with relief aid to address the humanitarian situation resulting from the evacuation of tens of thousands of people from their areas. In a statement issued today, the Ministry of Finance said that in accordance with the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Ministry ensured the required relief aid which will be shipped to Colombo Airport on two Saudi Arabian Airlines flights; the first on Wednesday and the second on Friday. The Ministry of Finance also said that the relief aid will be handed over to officials of the Government of Sri Lanka by Saudi Ambassador to Sri Lanka with the participation of delegates from the Ministry of Finance. "This relief aid comes within the keenness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to provide humanitarian assistance to the needy", the Ministry of Finance added.
