Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired today the Cabinet meeting at the Royal Court at Al Salam Palace in Jeddah. At the outset of the session, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the cabinet on the discussions, consultations, meetings and contacts he made over the past few days with leaders and envoys of friendly countries including his meeting with Egyptian President Mohammed Hosny Mubarak which focused mainly on the latest developments and peace process in the region as well as efforts made by Egypt to broker peace and reconciliation between conflicting Palestinian factions. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Moheiaddin Khojah said that the cabinet also listened to a report on the latest developments in a number of Arab countries including Somalia, Sudan, Iraq and Lebanon. He added that the cabinet expressed its happiness at the appointment of Nabih Berry as speaker of the Lebanese Parliament as well as the nomination of Saad Al Hariri as prime minister. The cabinet also expressed hope that this will help Lebanon establish national security and prosperity, stressing the Kingdom's support of Lebanon's stability and sovereignty. --More
