The general conference for the International Labor Organization (ILO) was inaugurated here today under the chairmanship of Bangladeshi Minister of Labor & Employment Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain and participation of representatives of 182 countries. The delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is headed by Dr Abdel-Wahid Al-Humeid, the Deputy Labor Minister at the conference. In an address at the conference, Dr. Al-Humeid said it reviewed the global economic crisis and its impact on the labor market. He noted that a joint statement was issued by the GCC member states on the basic labor rights, and said the GCC states have made it clear that they have been giving priority to the human beings as the major goal of development. --MORE
