Humeid, Deputy Minister of Labor, has said that laws in the Kingdom and GCC states match international labor standards. Al-Humeid, who headed a delegation at the World Labor Organization conference which opened in Geneva Tuesday, said that the law prohibited forced labor and provided for freedom of choice of employment, as well as defining working hours and stipulating a weekly day off and holidays. Al-Humeid said the Geneva conference, which was attended by representatives from 182 nations, discussed the impact of the global economic crisis on the labor market.
