based Al-Nadwa said the Kingdom's stand towards Lebanon is the firm stance of support for a brother towards his another brother. "As the Kingdom is keen on preserving the unity of Lebanon, it was always neutral in its stand vis-à-vis the Lebanese factions," the daily noted. The daily pointed out that the Saudi ambassador in Lebanon has recently held meetings with all Lebanese parties to ensure that the only thing that concerns the Kingdom is the existence of unified and stable Lebanon which is far away from disputes. "Yesterday the Lebanese cast their votes for election of their representatives in a quiet atmosphere, which means that the Lebanese are keen on the peaceful option for naming their representatives and their government too," the daily elaborated. The daily thinks that matters are proceeding ahead towards a government of national unity because the elections which were run on the basis of Taif agreement guarantee the election of all political powers to the parliament. The result of the elections may cause bitterness for certain quarters but the results should be respected because the elections were held in line with democratic bases, the daily said, hoping that the new government would be smoothly formed taking into account the country's higher interests. The paper said the existence of a stable government which represents the Lebanese people will be supported by the Arab countries notably the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which has been always extending support to Lebanon at the hard times. The Lebanese people are grateful for the support extended to them by the Kingdom, the daily concluded.
