Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Aseeri met here today with former Lebanese Prime Minister Salem Al-Hus at the latter office in Beirut today. Following the meeting, the Ambassador said the visit came as part of visits to determine the various political powers in Lebanon. In a briefing to The Saudi Press Agency, he reiterated Saudi Arabia's leadership support to Lebanon and said he is looking forward to see a stable and safe Lebanon without interference from anyone. Ambassador Asiri hoped that the results of the parliamentary elections promise stability and prosperity for the brotherly Lebanese people. "We, in Saudi Arabia, suffer if our Lebanese brothers are inflicted by any harm and we rejoice when we see the existence of political cohesion, understanding and consensus for the sake of their homeland and hope that Lebanon would always be fine". He expressed optimism about the future of Lebanon and hope for the prevalence of security and stability after the next parliamentary elections. He hoped that another outlook towards Lebanon would be the crystallization into reality the advancement and welfare of its people and that Lebanon will regain its glory. With respect to the next elections, Asiri said the Kingdom respects the choice of the Lebanese people, saying it is our duty to seek unification of Lebanon's political power and strengthening of its security and stability. "The Saudi-Lebanese relations are people-to-people bonds. Therefore, whatever the Lebanese peoples' choice for the leadership, we will be with him," he added.
