The 36th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) was concluded here today. The theme of the session was "Towards the Promotion of Islamic Solidarity". The Damascus Declaration, which was issued at the end of the conference, stressed the importance of the organization to play an active role in protecting the interests and rights of Muslim countries and their peoples. It also called for various Arab and Islamic countries to confront terrorism. The declaration emphasized the importance of activating the solidarity of OIC member states to face the current economic and political developments.
