The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, received here yesterday Najib Monif, Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Permanent Representative of Tunisia to the OIC. The meeting explored various fields of cooperation between Tunisia and the OIC. It also dealt with means of boosting Islamic solidarity as well as joint Islamic action in the wake of the outcome of the 36th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the OIC Member States held recently in Damascus, Syria. Ihsanoglu and Monif also reviewed the arrangements for the visit the Secretary General is planning to conduct to Tunisia following an invitation extended by the Tunisian government to participate in the Joint International Symposium on the unification of the Hijri calendar to be held in the Tunisian capital on June 11, according to a press release issued here yesterday.
