Russian Interior Ministry officials say two police officers and a civilian have been killed by militants in Chechnya and a neighboring southern province. The ministry's branch in Chechnya says a policeman was killed late Saturday by a remote-controlled explosive device planted by the rebels near the southern village of Bamut. The Interior Ministry's division in the neighboring province of Dagestan said Sunday that another police officer was shot dead by unidentified gunmen Saturday night in the town of Khasavyurt near the border with Chechnya. The attack also killed a civilian, according to a report of Associated Press.
