Police in Russia's Dagestan province say security forces killed five suspected militants in a gunbattle Sunday. Interior Ministry spokesman Mark Tolchinsky said the shootout occurred before dawn in the town of Khasavyurt, near the border with war-scarred Chechnya. He said the gunmen opened fire after security forces stopped their car at a roadblock and urged them to surrender, according to a report of The Associated Press.
