Two soldiers with the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan were killed in clash in the country's east today, dpa cited a ISAF as reporting. The force did not provide details of the "direct fire" incident, nor the nationality of the casualties. Eastern Afghanistan however has mainly been patrolled by US troops. Earlier Friday, the British Ministry of Defence reported that one of its soldiers died in an explosion in southern Afghanistan the day before. Thursday's casualty brings to 159 the total British dead in Afghanistan since the conflict began in 2001, the ministry said. Six British soldiers have died on duty in southern Afghanistan over the last eight days.
