Executive Secretary of the UN-ESCWA (economic, and social committee for west Asia) Badr Omar al-Daf'ei received here today Minister of Commerce and Industry Abdullah bin Ahmad Rida, who is currently visiting Lebanon. Rida said he had visited ESCWA to reiterate the keenness of the Saudi Ministry of Commerce and Industry on promoting cooperation with UN-ESCWA. He praised the program of women at ESCWA and said the Kingdom is keen on enabling women play their role in the service of their society taking into account the importance of preserving the society's traditions. Meanwhile, Rida said the Arab economic forum due to be held in Beirut, is one of the most important conferences held in the middle east region. He added that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz is keen on enhancing economic cooperation among the Arab countries. The conference embodies the existing economic cooperation among the Arab countries, he said.
