The Yemeni government and the Kuwaiti Economic Development Fund signed today an agreement under which the Fund will extend $50 million as a contribution to financing the programs and activities of the social development in Yemen. This development comes within the framework of the pledge made by Kuwait at London donors conference to extend $200 million to Yemen. The agreement was signed by Yemeni Deputy Premier for economic affairs and Minister of Planning and International cooperation Abdel-Karim al-Arhabi and Abdel-Wahab al-Badr, the Fund's Director General. The programs of the Yemeni fund for social development aim at fighting poverty and improving the living conditions of the poor people as well as combating unemployment.
