Yemeni Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi called on the donors to fulfill their obligations of funding Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan 2011. During an enlarged meeting held by the Yemeni government and the donors here today to launch the plan, al-Arhabi said that the 2011 plan requires a funding amounted to $224 million targeting three segments, which are rebellion-affected people in Sa'ada and adjacent governorates, people affected by food insecurity and malnutrition, and refugees coming from neighboring countries of Africa to Yemen. Al-Arhabi affirmed the government has exerted the overall needed efforts to settle the humanitarian and security situation in Sa'ada, Yemen News Agency (Saba) reported. The Social Fund for Development (SFD) has allocated 200 projects, which were approved to be implemented in the affected areas in Sa'ada, he said. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative in Yemen Pratibha Mehta highlighted the importance of accelerating the provision of the required financings to carry out the plan, affirming the significance of fulfilling 70 percent of the needed financings for this purpose.
