Palestinian Foreign Minister Riad Al-Maliki lauded Sunday the initiative of His Highness the Emir Kuwait for making the situation in Gaza Strip a priority of the Arab Economic Summit and placing it at the top of the agenda. Speaking to KUNA, he said, "His Highness the Emir's decision to have the situation in Gaza discussed at the summit allowed for talking the issue over by the Arab foreign ministers during their meeting on Friday." He thanked His Highness the Emir for this initiative, which he said "reflects the true Arab stances of His Highness the Emir and his bearing of responsibility during hardship." He noted that the situation in Gaza was discussed despite the fact that the summit was an economic one. On Thursday, His Highness the Emir had announced that the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip would be placed on the summit's agenda with the aim of immediately halting Palestinian bloodshed.
