Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Professor Ekmel-Eddin Ihsanoglu has called for avoiding linking Islam with terrorism. Speaking after the issuance of the resolution of the UN General Assembly which condemns insulting religions for the fourth consecutive year, Ihsanoglu said the OIC is committed to respecting expression of freedom. Ihsanoglu, who was speaking at a meeting organized by the OIC at the Geneva-based UN, said that there is an increasing wave for religious hatred, discrimination and fanaticism against the Muslims. "We should stop the endeavors which try to associate Islam with terrorism, and to project the Muslims as evil people, " he added.
