Secretary General of OIC receives call from Solana

Secretary General of the Jeddah-based Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Professor Ekmel-Eddin Ihsanoglu has received a telephone call from European Union High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana.
During the call, views were exchanged on developments of some European newspapers' republication of cartoons blasphemous to the Prophet Mohammad peace be upon him.
Solana said he greatly respects Muslims and their religion. He expressed desire to cooperation with the Secretary General to defuse the crisis.
