Border Guard patrols foiled recently an attempt to smuggle a quantity of hashish at Al Mufjah center here after exchanging fire with a group of smugglers. Commander of border guards of Najran region, Major General Mohammad bin Abdul Rahman Al-Zahrani, stated that one of the patrols operating at the center of Mufjah spotted a group of people trying to trespass borders by under covering from the sights of the border patrols. Al-Zahrani added that when the smugglers sensed that they were spotted, they opened fire at members of the patrol, who responded by firing at those people who fled from the scene and returned to their original destination, leaving behind a quantity of hashish, weighing 22 kilograms. The Hashish has been seized. A formal action will be undertaken in this regard.
