State radio says a magnitude 4.9 aftershock jolts the same area in southern Iran where an earlier strong quake killed seven. The Thursday report says the aftershock struck Bandar Khamir at 6:46 a.m. and was the strongest in a string of aftershocks after Wednesday's magnitude 6 quake. Police have been searching for three people missing from the main quake, which also injured 45 people. Iran is located on seismic fault lines and experiences at least one slight earthquake everyday. In February 2005, a magnitude-6.4 quake killed 612 people in the southern town of Zarand.
