A strong quake again jolted the southeastern Iranian province of Kerman, state news agency IRNA reported Sunday. The quake with a magnitude of 5.4 on the Richter IRNA shook surrounding villages of the provincial city Zarand on Saturday night. No information was immediately available on damage or casualties, DPA said. The same area was hit in February by a 6.4 magnitude quake that killed 612 people, injured 1,400 and destroyed some 8,000 residential units. Earlier this month, a 5.5 degree quake shook Zarand but caused no casualties.
