The World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) held here today annual Iftar Party which was attended by a number of ambassadors accredited to the Kingdom as well as a number of diplomats and businessmen. The Chinese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Yang Hong Lin delivered a speech in which he said that the religion of Islam is a religion of peace and calls for the coexistence and harmony among all peoples which, in turn, contributed to world peace and security. This was reflected in the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz's call for dialogue among different religions and civilizations, the Ambassador said citing the King's success to hold the World Conference on Dialogue in Madrid. Cooperation between the China and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia developed in various fields due to the efforts of the countries, especially the exchange of visits by the Chinese President Hu Jintao and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz in 2006 as well as the visit of Chinese Vice President XI Jinping to the Kingdom last June, the Ambassador added. For his part, the South African Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia John Davis delivered a speech in which he expressed thanks to and appreciation of WAMY for inviting ambassadors and diplomats to the annual Iftar party, commending WAMY activities in helping the poor and needy people everywhere. Following that, WAMY Secretary General Dr. Saleh bin Suleiman Al-Wohaibi delivered a speech in which he expressed thanks to and appreciation of the Saudi Government for supporting WAMY.
