Russian peace keepers will never leave Abkhazia and South Ossetia, deputy head of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Colonel General Anatoly Nogovitsin told a press conference on Saturday, Itar-Tass reported. "We'll never give up peace keepers in South Ossetia and Abkhazia. If they stop fulfilling their function now, then who will ensure security there," he said. "We firmly stick to the provisions of the Treaty of 1992, which defines the procedure and tasks of our peace keepers in conflict zones,” Nogovitsyn stressed.
