Sheikh Mohammed Hussein, the Grand Mufti of Al-Quds and Palestinian territories has warned against the Israeli occupation authorities' old and new plan to build a Jewish temple near the Holy Mosque of Al-Aqsa in Al-Quds City. In a press statement published in Amman today, he said "The Israeli authorities are persistent in demolishing the road to Bab Al-Magharebah hill and building instead a bridge that will facilitate offensive operations to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque by the occupation authorities and settlers and that the Israelis did not refrain from violating the Islamic sanctities, particularly the Holy Mosque of Al-Aqsa. He added that "The occupation authorities aimed to build a synagogue in the yard of Al Buraq to be the nucleus of the alleged Temple Mount, which the Jewish settlers and extremists seek to construct on the Mosque ruins when it is finally demolished " pointing out that such threats "are no longer just talk, but that Israeli authorities had supported plans by Jewish extremists against Al Aqsa Mosque." The Grand Mufti of Al-Quds appealed to the Arab States and the Organization of Islamic Conference to intervene to "stop this aggressive act which is targeting the very creed and civilization of the Islamic nation."
