An official Palestinian report issued yesterday by Alaqsa Waqf and Heritage institution disclosed that more than 50 synagogues have been established in recent years in the area around the blessed Mosque of Al-Aqsa and a number of other synagogues are under construction, the largest of which is being established at Tankazeyah school- an affiliate of the blessed Mosque of Al-Aqsa. The report, which was submitted to the Office of the United Nations in Amman, Jordan, pointed out that the Israeli occupying authorities have approved synagogues' construction plans and allocated $40 million for this purpose. The closest Synagogue to the Mosque is crowned with a large dome constructed intentionally to distort views and conceal the golden dome of the Rock Mosque. The report pointed out that Synagogues are located beneath the blessed Mosque of Al-Aqsa as a tunnel is dug in by the Israeli occupation and Jewish groups in addition to a 1000 Square Meters large synagogue to be built in Buraq square. Additionally, there is a plan to build a synagogue in Al Laqlaq Tower - the area which includes the blessed Mosque of Al Aqsa in the North-Eastern side. The intended large synagogue to be implemented soon in Al Buraq Square will be used as a center for Torah teaching and another plan for a synagogue at Burj al-Laqlaq, which is the area that includes the blessed Mosque of Al-Aqsa to the North East side, the report said. The Israeli Occupation Authority is planning to build as many as 35 housing units and a Synagogue and settling 1000 new Jewish settlers in the vicinity of the blessed Mosque of Al Aqsa.
