An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale jolted Waingapu waters, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on Monday, at 5.32 am Western Indonesian Time (WIB), ANTARA reported. The earthquake's epicenter was located at around 23 km northeast of Waingapu, or 99 km southwest Ruteng, NTT Province, at a depth of 71 km below sea level, the National Meteorological and Geophysics Office (BMG) reported here on Monday.
