Ahsa, Eastern Province, July 27, SPA -- Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, Executive Director General of the National Guard Health Affairs, disclosed today a new medical achievement by King Abdul Aziz National Guard's Hospital in Al-Ahsa which conducted a successful surgery to deliver a baby of a pregnant woman, who had ectopic pregnancy that was described as bulging out 'Yolk Sac' except head and placenta that was inside the uterus. He indicated that the abdomen was opened and the baby was retrieved in a sound and healthy condition. The baby was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for the newborns. However, the Medical team was able to close the hole in the mother's uterus. Dr. Rabeeah has praised the efforts of the medical team, who conducted the surgery, which was co-headed by obstetrics and gynecology Consultants Dr. Hani Kadora and Dr. Gamal Fouad. He pointed out that the hospital has become one of the best hospitals in the region and is considered an important referral facility because of its existing top medical expertise and distinctive modern medical equipment. Earlier, the woman had undergone a womb clean-up operation and during the process of the surgery, accidentally a hole appeared on the top of the uterus. Later, the woman became pregnant and following medical examinations by doctors, the yolk sac was discovered outside the top of the uterus.
