Kamchatsky, July 24, SPA -- There was an earthquake measuring 6.1 points on the Richter scale in the Pacific Ocean off Kamchatka's southern coast. The quake force was three-four points in the Severo-Kurilsk city on the Paramushir Island, Itar-Tass quoted the Severo-Kurilsk seismic station as reporting today. The quake force in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky was also three-four points, ceiling lamps were rocking in apartments of the city dwellers. The epicenter of the earth tremor was located 105 kilometers from Severo-Kurilsk and 250 kilometers from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The jolt was registered at 14:43, local time (05:43, Moscow time). There have been no casualties or destruction or tsunami threat.
