US dollar mostly higher, gold down in European morning trading

The U.S. dollar was mostly higher against
other major currencies in European trading Thursday
morning. Gold fell, AP reported.
The euro traded at US$1.5561, down from US$1.5635 late
Wednesday in New York.
Other dollar rates:
_105.14 Japanese yen, down from 105.26
_1.0454 Swiss francs, up from 1.0381
_0.9908 Canadian dollars, up from 0.9902
The British pound was quoted at US$1.9761, down from
$1.9802.
Gold traded in London at US$893.00 per troy ounce, down
from US$898.20 late Wednesday.
Silver opened in London at US$17.39, down from US$17.47.
