An earthquake measuring 4.9 points occurred in the south of the Irkutsk region. Its epicenter was located in the Lake Baikal water area 10 kilometers northeast of the Slyudyanka district centre, the regional department of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry told Itar-Tass with reference to the Baikal seismic station. Earth tremors of three-four points were felt in nearby populated localities. There have been no reports about casualties and destruction.
