Saudi Shoura Chief attends IPU Assembly in Cape Town

South African President Tambo Mbeki opened here on Sunday the 118th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
The delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the meeting is led by Chairman of the Shoura (Consultative) Council Dr Salih bin Abdullah bin Humaid.
Representatives of more than 130 parliaments around the world
are participating in the Assembly.
The speakers at the inaugural session underlined the importance of the parliamentary work and said "it positively contributes to enhancing relations among the countries of the world and enhances the pillars of the global peace and security."
