A resident of Permata Hijau area, Cidodol, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, was killed in a fire which razed the residential area today, ANTARA reported. The fire started at around 8 am local time and was believed to have been caused by an exploding stove , according to information from the Jakarta Police's Traffic Management Center. The fire razed three houses and killed a resident who was trapped in the blaze. The fire brigade managed to extinguish the fire in two hours` time using only one fire truck. Earlier, a fire also gutted a residential area in Sunter Jaya area, North Jakarta, in the wee hours of Tuesday but it claimed no lives.
