US dollar down, gold up in European morning trading

The U.S. dollar was lower against other major currencies in European trading Monday morning. Gold rose, the Associated Press reported.
The euro traded at US$1.4671, up from US$1.4655 Friday in
New York.

The British pound was quoted at US$2.0412, up from
$2.0315.
Gold traded in London at US$800.00 per troy ounce, up from
US$797.20 late Friday.
In Zurich, gold traded at US$798.10 bid per troy ounce, up
from US$794.00.
Silver opened in London at US$14.35, down from US$14.39.
