Over sixteen security personnel were killed and nearly three dozen others injured in two suicide attacks in the garrison city of Rawalpindi, neighboring Islamabad Saturday morning, police and security officials said. However, a report said that a total of thirty-five people were killed in the suicide bombings. An explosive laden car was rammed into a bus carrying the officials of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) on the busy Murree Road of Rawalpindi, Pakistan Army spokesman Maj-Gen Waheed Arshad told reporters. In another incident, he said, a suspected suicide bomber detonated himself at a check post in Saddar area near Pakistan Army's General Headquarters, killing one security guard while injuring three others. Arshad said after the incident the bus caught fire, killing fifteen passengers on board. However, the rescue and relief work at the bus is continuing for recovery of the injured and killed from the bus. The injured persons were shifted to Rawalpindi General Hospital and other hospitals of the city. The security agencies immediately cordoned the area and are engaged in investigation.
