For the first time, two Saudi ladies participated in the annual conference of the International Union of Lawyers, which began its deliberations in Paris yesterday. The conference is attended by a number of lawyers from the Kingdom and other countries of the world. Dr Majed Karoub, the Secretary General of the Union of the international lawyers in the Arab Gulf states, said the two ladies presented two working papers at the conference. The working papers were delivered by Dr Noura Abdulrahman al-Yousef, the head of the economy department at King Saud University and member of the human rights society, and Maha Kabbani. Karoub said the participation of the Kingdom in the conference reflects its efforts in exchanging views on bases of arbitration. The conference is scheduled to discuss a number of topics pertaining to the criminal procedures and other related topics.
