Minister of Culture and Information of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Iyad bin Ameen Madani and British Secretary of State for Middle East and North Africa Kim Hols co-opened the exhibition titled "Bilateral Historical Relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and United Kingdom", organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information at Victoria and Albert Museum in London today in cooperation with the Saudi Embassy in London to coincide with the current state visit of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to the United Kingdom. The opening ceremony was attended by Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Ireland; Prince Dr. Bandar bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Saud, Advisor at the King's court; a number of diplomats accredited to Britain, Saudi and British media representatives, a big number of members of the Saudi community in Britain and the British community. At the outset of the ceremony, Madani expressed pleasure for opening the exhibition which coincides with the visit of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to Britain. The Minister gave an account of the contents of the exhibition which, he said, reflects the progress and firmness of bilateral friendly relations between the two kingdoms, the foundation stone of which was laid at the historic meeting between late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, the founder of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Britain's then Prime Minister Winston Churchill. Noting the steady and vigorous growth of the Saudi British political, economic, commercial, financial and cultural relations, Madani said that the cultural relations and the cultural exchanges play pivotal role in further consolidating bilateral relations in all fields. --More
