At least six people including three policemen were killed when a suicide bomber hit a police check post in Rawalpindi, neighboring Islamabad, in a high security zone Tuesday, police said. It was a suicide attack carried out by a pedestrian, Rawalpindi police chief Saud Aziz told The Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The check post is located about one kilometer from the Army House, the official residence of President General Pervez Musharraf. Over a dozen passengers of a passing van were injured. The wounded persons were taken to different hospitals of Rawalpindi. The attack took place on the Golf Road, which leads to the Army House and is adjacent to the busy Grand Trunk Road. We had got information about the suicide attack and had taken some precautionary measures, Aziz said. Police and security forces cordoned off the area.
