Five people, including a low-ranking Pakistani army official, were sentenced to death Friday for their involvement in a plot to kill President Pervez Musharraf, reported dpa from Islamabad. Three other people were sentenced to jail terms in the assassination attempt on December 25, 2003, near Musharraf's official residence in the garrison town of Rawalpindi, the chief military spokesman, Major General Shaukat Sultan, told the media in Islamabad.
