Tokyo stocks opened lower Tuesday following overnight losses in the US market, according to dpa. The Nikkei 225 Stock Average dipped 56.45 points in morning trading, or 0.31 per cent, to 18,031.03. The broader Topix index of all first-section issues was also down 6.50 points, or 0.37 per cent, to 1,758.37. On currency markets at 9 am (0000 GMT), the dollar was quoted at 123.53-58 yen, down from Monday's 5 pm quote of 123.72-75 yen. The euro was quoted at 1.3461-66 dollars, up from Monday's 5 pm quote of 1.3443-46 dollars, and at 166.34-39 yen, almost unchanged from 166.35-39 yen.
