The visiting Imam and Khateeb of the Holy Mosque in Makkah, Sheikh Abdur Rehman Al-Sudais has said it is high time for the Muslim Ummah (nation) to forge unity in its ranks to cope with all the contemporary challenges. He made these remarks in an address before the students and academia at the Mosque of Punjab University Lahore, and a certificate distribution ceremony of Jamia Ashrefia. Sheikh Al-Sudais said that anti-Islam elements wanted to destroy the Ummah by creating differences in its ranks. "The remedy with Muslims is to strictly follow the teachings of Islam and get united," he added. Sheikh Al-Sudais said that Islam teaches moderation at all levels and advocates peace and goodwill for every one. Sheikh Al-Sudais said it was high time that the Ummah must focus on the acquisition of knowledge, as it was a pre-requisite for the promotion of peace, love, tolerance and brotherhood. He affirmed that the Pak-Saudi relations are "very cordial and deep- rooted."
