Iran's foreign ministry spokesman said Sunday his country was willing, under the right conditions, to improve its chilly relations with the U.S. despite having passed up the opportunity for direct talks at last week's Iraq conference. Both nations had previously sounded interested in meeting at the conference, which was held in the Egyptian resort town of Sharm el-Sheik, but the only direct contact came in a casual chat between two lower ranking officials, according to AP. Despite the missed opportunity, Mohammad Ali Hosseini said in his weekly news briefing that it is possible to improve U.S.-Iran relations if several «necessary preliminaries» are established. -- SPA
