JEDDAH — No damage or casualties were reported in a minor earthquake experienced in an area south of the coastal city of Al-Shuqaiq in the southwestern region of Jazan. The Saudi Geological Survey said that the earthquake occurred at 2:30 on Friday afternoon that measured a magnitude of 2.5 on the Richter scale. Tariq Aba Al-Khail, spokesman of the Saudi Geological Survey, said that the situation is stable and that the earthquake had not caused any damage. There was also no recording of any aftershocks, the Saudi Press Agency reported, quoting him as saying.
