The security spokesman of the Ministry of the Interior said "the competent authorities received on 21-22/04/1427 AH and 28-29/05/1427 AH, a total of 28 citizens who were detained in Guantanamo Bay and that after completion of the investigation proceedings with them and endorsement during their confessions, it was proved that they committed a number of illegal acts that prompted public proceedings against them before the Sharia Court's competent authorities who ordered them different terms of imprisonment and referred their cases to the Court of Cassation, which issued judicial order No. 26306 dated 28 /11 /1427 AH, releasing those who completed the periods of their sentences under articles 216 and 217 of the Law of Criminal Procedures and also in accordance with article 15 of the same rules. Under this, the 11 from the 28 accused persons, who completed their sentences, have been released. The cases of the rest of the accused are still under consideration until their completion with conclusiveness."
