Security forces killed one suspected rebel during a shootout early Saturday close to the cease-fire line dividing Kashmir between India and Pakistan, an army spokesman said. The army recovered one AK-47 assault rifle from the suspected insurgent in Gursai, a village 200 kilometers (125 miles) west of Jammu, the winter capital of India's Jammu-Kashmir state, said Lt. Col. Also Saturday, police recovered 200 kilograms (440 pounds) of powerful RDX explosive and 60 detonators from a suspected hide-out in the Sumbar area, 145 kilometers (90 miles) north of Jammu, said Basanth Rath, superintendent of police, the Associated Press reported.
