At least 13 people were killed when a bus they were travelling in plunged into a gorge in India's northern mountainous state of Uttaranchal, police said Sunday, reported by DPA. Three others were injured in the accident which took place on Saturday as the bus skidded off the road and fell into a 110 metre gorge, 60 kilometres north-east of state capital Dehradun. "Ten of the 16 injured died on the scene. Three others died on way to the hospital," a local policeman, Viresh Rawat said. Police was investigating whether the accident was caused by driver negligence. Road accidents are common in India, which accounts for 13 per cent of road-accident fatalities worldwide.
