At least 17 people were killed when a passenger bus veered off a mountain road and plunged into a river in India's northern state of Uttarakhand on Sunday, police said. The accident took place in Tyuni, near state capital Dehradun when the driver failed to negotiate a sharp bend. "Twenty-six wounded have been moved to a state hospital while about 10 more passengers are missing," an official at the police control room in Dehradun was quoted as saying by the German Press Agency "DPA".
