Speaker of people's council in Egypt Dr Fat'hi Sarour has denounced the Israeli policy of targeting Lebanese civilians, and said that constitutes a violation to the international law. In a statement to the Egyptian television today, Sarour said there is an undeniable flagrant Israeli aggression and added 'Lebanon is considered as an occupied country as long as Israel has been occupying Shaba farms. 'As long as it is an occupied country, there should be resistance to the occupation', he said noting that resistance comes in line with the right to self-determination which is confirmed by the UN. He criticized the UN's security council's failure to carry out collective security. Warning against the collapse of the collective security, Dr Sarour said any effort for bringing about peace in the world should be supported.
