A number of senior Egyptian official have highlighted the great efforts exerted by the Saudi officials to ensure the comfort of the pilgrims and to provide them with all best possible services. In statements to SPA on the occasion of the Kingdom's national day, which fell on Sept 23, they reiterated the capability of the Kingdom of uprooting terrorism and the deviant groups. Dr Mohammed Sayyed Tantawi, the Sheikh of Cairo-based Al-Azhar, praised the Kingdom's significant role in the service of the Arab and Muslim causes. On his part, Dr Ahmad Fat'hi Sarour, the Speaker of the Egyptian Council of People, highlighted the existing deep-rooted relations between the Kingdom and Egypt. He noted that the Kingdom has been playing a crucial role in the preservation of the Islamic culture, and said the Kingdom's balanced policy has been yielding positive results. On the other hand, Egyptian Minister of Endowments Dr Mahmoud Zakzouk condemned the terror acts which had recently taken place in the Kingdom, and said the Kingdom would successfully uproot the menace of terrorism. He noted that the terrorist groups have noting to do with Islam which advocates peace. On his part, Dr Osama Al-Baz, the Political Advisor of the Egyptian President, praised the significant role being played by the Kingdom at the Arab and regional arenas.
