Pakistan successfully test-fired nuclear-capable long-range surface-to-surface missile, Shaheen II, Hataf VI, Saturday, Pakistan Army said. The missile with a range of 2500 kilometres, possesses the capability to hit the target most accurately, carrying conventional and non-conventional weapons, said the statement issued today by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). It added that the test was conducted to validate additional technical parameters beyond those that were verified in the last test fire in March 2005. Pakistan informed its neighbouring countries including India prior to the test-fire. President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz congratulated the Pakistani nation, Pakistan Army and all those scientists and technicians associated with the manufacture and successful test-fire of the missile.
