A Swedish man was sentenced Thursday to psychiatric care for killing his two step-sisters and also eating parts of their flesh, according to Deutsche Presse Agentur (dpa). The 29-year-old man did not take the stand at the district court hearing in Gavle, 170 kilometres north of Stockholm. The step-sisters were killed in two separate attacks last year. Both were stabbed multiple times. The man also admitted to drinking blood from his two victims and also carved flesh from the chest of one of his step-sister's which he ate. Investigators said they have failed to establish a clear motive for the killings. A sentence of psychiatric care has no time limit, and the man will be held in a locked, secure psychiatric facility. The court also ruled that the man should pay damages of some 628,000 kronor (83,000 dollars) to the victims' families. --SP 23 28 Local Time 20 28 GMT
