Two men were sentenced Friday for kidnapping a wealthy Swedish businessman earlier this year, dpa reported. Darko Sokacic, 43, who confessed to masterminding the January 17 kidnapping of Fabian Bengtsson was sentenced to a 10-year prison term. His accomplice, Lirim Seferi, 25, was sentenced to six years, the district court in the Swedish west coast city Gothenburg said. The two overpowered Bengtsson in his garage, sprayed mace in his eyes and dragged him to his car where he was tied and blindfolded. Bengtsson was then taken to a flat where he was placed in a sound- proof box, which was displayed in court. The 32-year-old was held 17 days in the box until he was released in central Gothenburg. Bengtsson is chief executive of Siba, which operates 50 stores. The concern is valued at about 2 billion kronor (288 million dollars). The district court also ruled that they were to be expelled from Sweden after serving their sentences. They were also ordered to pay damages to Bengtsson and his family. The two men were charged with demanding a ransom of some 50 million kronor (6.4 million dollars) to secure Bengtsson's release. The police and Bengtsson's family denied any ransom was paid. -- SP 0003 Local Time 2103 GMT
